Having sold my D3 a few years ago due to a house move, I have just this week bought another Discovery, this time a 2010 D4 HSE.
I am very happy with the car, but have found a couple of issues, which I didnt initially notice, but would like to put right with a bit of advice.
The side mirrors will not fold or unfold, neither by locking the car or by pressing the 2 buttons.
I believe that by pressing the 2 buttons for the 2 mirrors together, the LEDs on the buttons should both light up, but they don't.
I can adjust the mirrors ok, but they just dont fold.
Also, the rear windows can only be operated from the front.
The disable button, whether on or off, seems to make no difference.
Could these issues be related?
Any help much appreciated.

How can you be so certain your car is equipped with power folding mirrors?
They don't all have them, which might explain why you're struggling to get them to fold. Mods:

HSE came as standard with folding mirrors so they should work as described.
im just guessing but could the window switch module be faulty as the rear windows only work from the drivers position as well as the mirrors not folding?
the other option that used to work on Freelander2 was to lock the car from outside using the key fob, then manually fold the mirrors in (takes a bit of force to do it). Then when you unlock the car again the mirrors should fold out/in on the key press.
Have you had the codes read to see if that brings anything up ?

I am by no means certain that it is equipped with folding mirrors, but assumed that being an HSE, it would be. It also shows the little symbol under the 2 buttons.
I have tried different combinations of locking, manually folding, unlocking etc, but to no avail.
I haven't had chance to get any fault codes read yet.
The mirrors do dip when reversing though.
Thanks

Pressing the two buttons together and holding them down should fold the mirrors in, pressing and holding again folds them out. Rear most button isolates the rears giving you complete control of the rears.
Suspect the switch pack may be the issue.

Take the drivers door card off and check the wiring plugs and sockets, if there is a poor connection the faults can be related, whilst in there check the number of wires going to the mirrors, ISTR folding mirrors have 5 wires none folding 3, mirrors get damaged easily and folding mirrors are expensive to replace they may have been replaced with none folding It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I will give everything a go and let you know how I get on.
I have acquired a switch unit, so I'll try that first.
Thanks
