Halfords Battery
Hi , the time has come for a new battery and I am looking at the Halfords option,
the Halfords 019 AMG start/stop with 5 year guarantee,
it is priced at £122.67 + VAT (using the trade card).
Has anyone fitted one or had any issues
Thanks

I fitted a Halfords battery for about that price 3 months ago - all OK to date. I'll see if I can find the receipt for the exact price & number.

I’m sure I have that battery on my D3, it was on it when we bought it and we’ve had the car 18 months now no problems with it. I checked the price in Halford’s a while ago and it was about £185.

I don't have any experience of fitting a new battery , you may well already be aware, but from reading this forum, I believe you need to let the car ( Battery Management System) know about the new battery. People seem to use their IID tool to do this.
Probably wont be long before I have to do this, so let us know what you choose and how you get on.
CheersGary

I fitted a YUASA 019 bought from Halfords about 5 months back and luckily it has a 5 year guarantee and I always leave the receipt under the battery in the battery tray. So tomorrow I’m taking it back as it’s not holding charge. It’s been funny for about a month and it was dead after being left for 7 days (after being charged for 48 hours prior to that) while I was on my Holiday. It was charged overnight from 6pm until about 4pm today and the charger showed complete (The built in battery indicator was also green) so I tried to start the car but only got as far as moving the seat before it was flat again. I think it’s only got a surface charge so it’s going back, I’m not happy with it and I can see Halfords being difficult about it.

I had a message telling me to re start the engine - low battery- every time I stopped the car.
checked both batteries and the smaller secondary battery was only showing 9 volts.
changed it and still kept getting the start engine message so thought the main battery was also poor.
then last night after reading a post on here I connected my iid and told the car it has had a new secondary battery fitted and HEY PRESTO the fault has now gone and so far all is good.
Thanks for all the replies

Took mine back in today expecting a fight but the manager confirmed with a tester that it only had 30 Amps so gave me a replacement straight away.
