My beautiful D4 is dead
Having had it serviced yesterday, it has decided to blow up.
Well, I guess the crank has gone, but wont know until tomorrow.
Uphill, light throttle, MASSIVE jolt and thud, and everything immediately stopped.
No power steering or anything, rev counter on 0.
If I pressed the starter, nothing at all, not even a click.
So its been dropped off at Tim Fry for investigation.

Spend £421 on it yesterday
Although that might be a good thing, since Warranty Direct cannot argue that it hasnt been serviced recently!

This seems to happen quite often. Work done on car, then major failure, a day, or a week later.
Could there be an issue with the work that was done?Richard

Car has done 101000.
I cant think of anything that the service could have done that caused this. It was only a B service, so nothing major, and being OCD like i am, I checked the oil level before I set off and it was showing full.
But yes, this does seem to occur after services having read about it.
Problem I have is that its my only car, and even if they agree to repair, it will takes months!

Wasn’t there a comment a while back implying an issue whth the way the oil filter was fitted during a service?

Oil filter is a D3 issue ISTR, plus it would take more than a day to go bang. Good job there is WD cover.

Would assume that the belts were done at some point in the recent past.
Also, did it have an MOT when it was being serviced?...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

MOT was done in March, not with the service.
Both belts done about a year ago, by a very well respected indy, so unlikely to be that.
Been a day. After dropping the car at the garage, I had to walk back to work as I needed to get my laptop as I will have to work from home the next few days. Its 3 miles, but after 1/2 a mile is started to absolutely it down, and I didnt have a jacket or coat Just my suit trousers and shirt.
So got back to the office, dried my self off and had to call a taxi to get me home, £50
