A Spaniel ...... a dog guard and an unexpected child....
So......
We have a couple of dogs in our house and they are both lovely. The Retriever is loyal, obedient, totally trustworthy and no bother whatsoever.
Here he is
We also have a Spaniel who is also lovely(ish) but not to be trusted! She basically does what she wants, when she wants. We reckon she’s part cat and secretly taking amphetamines. If there’s something to bounce off she’ll bounce off it and if I put her in the boot without a dog guard I could well imagine she’d bounce over the back seats and find a new place to sit for 0.5 secs before bouncing somewhere else. Such as lap, footwell, lap, out of the window etc.
Here she is
So we have the LR dog guard and divider which is all good and works well and the dogs stay safe and contained .. ta da!
That is until we need to use the 3rd row seats and then I take 20mins to remove it all to take an extra child. But now I have nowhere secure for the dogs
So any good solutions to this??

Nice looking dogs!
All I can suggest is a dog crate sized, obviously, big enough to fit the pooches in, whilst not so big that you can't raise one of the third row seats.

We have an earlier version of one of these, which allows you to use six seats (although doesn’t seem to show this on their site now, so worth checking) however, not sure about the space for two dogs.

As Fitzy says the Trans K9 would work as their half width crate allows you to still use one of the 3rd row seats.

Hmmmm. Those crates look too wide, will have to get the tape measure out
Aldi have a guard on sale at £15 that I think would make a suitable starting point for making one..

Certainly my version allows for the other seat to be used and as far as I know the only difference was the addition of the rear door.
They are expensive, but very well made and great customer service.Andy

let me check the size of the cage i currently i have in my boot and ill see if it impedes using the 6th seat.
im in the market for a guard and divider but need to wait a little while to rebuild some cash after having service and belts done.
its a very large cage and was used for 2 border collies belonging to a friend, but when they no longer needed it they gave it to me as i too have a very crazy spaniel.

Exactly! And if you need to be with more peeps of the adult variety they’d most likely have their own car and can simply follow your car. Priorities man, priorities!

As others have said, the TransK9 B24Ss fits perfectly with the 6th seat up beside it and is spaniel-proof! They’re not cheap, although you might get lucky on eBay, but they’re very well made and don’t rattle like folding cages.

Cannot help other than echo the crate thing but you have just very accurately described our younger Cocker who looks strikingly similar too
