United Kingdom 2009 Discovery 4 TDV6 SE Auto Indus SilverDiscovery 4

A guy is walking through the country when he spots a sign that reads, “Talking Horse for Sale.” Intrigued, he walks up to the stable to check it out.

“So what have you done with your life?” he asks the horse.

“I’ve led a full life,” the horse answers miraculously. “I was born in The Andes where I herded for an entire village. Years later, I joined the mounted police force in New York and helped keep the city clean. And now, I spend my days giving free rides to underprivileged kids here in the country.”

The guy is flabbergasted. He asks the horse’s owner, “Why on earth would you want to get rid of such an incredible animal?”

The owner says, “Because he’s a liar! He never did any of that!”

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Do NOT google image search the phrase "horse in hole"

I'm off to bleach my eyes.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Local zoo will take them away for nothing Whistle Whistle

So do hunts, one of our ponies was put down by Port Lympe zoo, it leaves a big pool of blood and many people don’t like the thought of their pet being skinned, cut up and eaten by lions or hounds. Shooting a horse is not the same as injecting one that’s why bets don’t put dogs down very often with a humane killer.

Didnt realise Port Lym would actually put them down. Have been to lots of jobs where the vet has put the horses down and then Port Lym have turned up with a trailer and removed the carcase to be cut up back at the zoo.
Last one we went to a special horse funeral parlour came all the way out to the Marsh from London to take the horse away for cremation, dont know how much that would have cost

If euthanasia drugs are used, I don’t think the carcass can be fed to animals (or humans). I suppose the vet could have used an HK.

You most definitely can’t feed an animal that has had drugs to put it down. From my understanding zoos are like hunts and have ability to do their own knackering service but like I said it is quite a messy business. Port Lympe is near where one of our ponies went and unfortunately she had to be put down and the zoo did it.

Some vets don’t like using captive bolts because of this and to be fair if you want you animal put down and happy to have this method then it’s much cheaper not to use a vet.

Sadly the "put your goldfish on a block of ice" method doesn't scale up to 17 hand sized horses.

(very aware I'll get nagged at for that comment)

well ...

the thesaurus tells me that

a horse = a mount

a mount = a support

support = help

so ... yes.
