As you said completely corroded.
So rigged a temporary strap across the top of the engine.
How difficult is it to fit a new one?
Many thanks for your help BTW!

I had an issue with the one DM mentioned, the body was removed in 2012 for an engine change (before my time) and it appears they forgot to remove it. When I found it, the stud had been ripped out leaving only a tiny sliver intact. I ended up making a new stud from stainless and tac welding it. No more issues.

Does not surprise me - they don’t build them like they used to - In the old days they said
“ the longevity of a Land Rover was guaranteed by the discomfort of it passengers”
They should now change that to:
“ the longevity of a Land Rover is measured as the inverse of the impact on your bank balance (or number of problems)
. Land Rovers never get bogged! - merely delayed
Land Rovers never break down! - merely fail to proceed.
Land Rovers never leak oil - it’s a built in anti-rust feature

All
Is there an easy place to rig a jump lead from the -ve battery terminal to the engine?
My 2015 D$ HSE Lux won't start this morning and I need to see if this is the issue.
Unfortunately it's parked tight up against a fence with just enough room for me to squeeze in and not enough room to get the wheel off and arch liner out to check the strap.
Thanks
Nasher Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

The “temporary” earthing cable installed
D is bolted to a point on the top of the engine under the engine cover and is the bolted to the earthing stud ahead of the battery by the FBH.
Hope that helps
