Tow trust fixed tow bar - Alko compatible?

I have bought and fitted a TowTrust TL1 towbar, however it didn't come with an Alko compatible hitch. The hitch is bolted through the lower holes which appears to be the height closest to the height of the removal Land Rover item. If I fitted an Alko hitch piece, is there enough clearance between the ball and the plate?

Yes. I have a TL1, with the Alko tow ball.

Looks like you need to change the tow ball

The neck doesn't look long enough to me,

I agree with the comment above. Looks like you need the bigger ball to be on the safe side.

Agree, you need to remove that towball and fit a longer alko compatible ball. That will give you room between the alko hitch and the towbar plate.

Preserve though as I fitted the tow trust removable bar in place of my LR detachable. It’s far superior and more secure. I feel confident towing my twin axle whereas with the L R original it rattled and banged despite L R checking it and finding it within tolerances.

Thumbs Up
Thanks everyone, and especially to rrhool, that photo was exactly what I needed. Alko tow ball ordered, hopefully will be with me tomorrow or Saturday. Had the LR detachable fitted to my D3, but when I changed to a D4 I knew I'd be towing more heavy loads (trailer loaded with building materials, and caravan) so wanted a fixed tow bar. TT TL1 looks the neatest IMHO.
