Lazy entry
All, I suspect I’m going mad but I can’t seem to get lazy entry working on our new D4...
SWMBO and I have a key each and have saved all settings against one of the memory settings for seat, mirrors, etc. On our D3, this would automatically switch to the correct setting based on which key unlocked the car.
With the D4, we have to press the memory button on the door when getting in. I can’t find a lazy entry on/off function anywhere.
What am I missing?!Cheers,
Gareth

I think you have to put the steering column adjuster into “auto”

I don’t think it works like the D3. I’ve turned off lazy entry as it always left the seat in the highest position and wouldn’t lower to my position until the door was closed. This maybe wouldn’t be an issue if I wasn’t tall but it meant I always had the steering wheel in the way. Instead I just press the appropriate button on the door to recall the memory setting. Regarding the keys, they (at least on mine) have no bearing on interior positions like you would expect.012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)

Still confused by this.
Have checked the owners manual and, as suggested, the steering column needs to be set to "Auto" for lazy entry to work. However this only appears to adjust the height of the steering column and the seat base - the column lifts and the seat drops supposedly to make entry/exit easier. As I've mentioned elsewhere, this is useless as the steering column doesn't go high enough for me anyway (and it was the same on my Audi A8 when I had that.)
However, I haven't as yet found any mention of the memory settings being linked to the two different keys, which I find really hard to believe. Most cars with smart keys and memory have this as a basic feature. Christ, our old D3 HSE did it.
To confirm, do other owners have the different memory positions linked to different smart keys?Cheers,
Gareth

AFAIK (I may be wrong ) seat/wheeel positions are not linked to the key. You need to press the button (1-4) (on my MY14 at least).
I had a BMW where theyt were linked to the keys and it caused no end of problems when both of us were in the car with our keys

From 2010 on there was no more individual key programming. All done on the door buttons.
What you could do is set up button 1 as your driving position and button 2 as your easy entry button and button 3 for the wife/partners driving position. That way for button 2 you can set the seat to move fully rearward and downward and move steering wheel in and up. Just stop and press 2 to exit.012MY RRS 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography (Current)
