Oh well this is great news. I donโ€™t have to sell my Bmw 525d after all, I can just leave it where it is until my crank snaps and then transplant.
I hate selling cars, this music to my ears ๐Ÿ˜‚

An interesting choice of engine, considering the reputation of BMW motors in L322 Range Rovers!

Looks like the way to go.
Would be interesting to see what price it cost and what else needs to be swapped out/changed over.

Guess it depends on the variety, if it comes with all the gubbins as used in the 535d then its gonna have some poke!

I had a td6 ffrr, and honstly the engine was not THAT good. It had much more oil leak problens than the tdv6, and was not as powerfull.

It was a more reliable engine (i have read about fewer major faults with the td6 than with the tdv6), but not more powerfull!!

probably BMW's second worst engine N47 takes the biscuit, with their weedy little timing chains.

No way, Iโ€™d love to know what work went into that. Iโ€™d have probably done the 3.0 or 3.5 over the 2.5 but then a good remap would happily see it along the road nicely.

I guess Disco 3's are getting to the price point now where there isnt much to lose by putting in other engines. Anyone know if the Chevy LS 7 or 8 engines would fit? Difficulty i guess is getting the other car systems talking to it.

A8 4.2 was a great fun car - looked like a boring saloon until you nailed it

Certainly was great fun, just very risky for the driving licence as 120 would be like driving at 65 Shocked
