Poor old, much maligned, Princess. At a time when Ford were selling huge quantities of Cortina’s and Granada’s, with running gear (and arguably, styling) that wouldn’t have looked out of place on Fred Flintstone’s car, Leyland we’re building this radically styled, space efficient, aerodynamic, hydraulically suspended, transverse engined (sometimes with OHC 6 cylinder transverse engines), runflat equipped, technical tour de force.
Okay, they were slow and shoddily built, by disgruntled and badly managed Brummies, using tooling that should have been thrown away in the 1940’s, but at least the designers were trying!
Okay, that’s my Devil’s advocacy for the day 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄
2021 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built ‘14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!
(One of only two known to exist in the world!)
