[Wanted] TDV6 main bearing caps
Hi
Does anyone have spare main bearing caps for the TDV6?
There must be plenty of seized engines out there.
In the photo I have attached, I’m not sure if the numbers on the side of the piece are significant but if you have a spare cap with no. 6 in the right hand corner, that would be ideal. It might just be a marker as to which mould it was cast from, I don’t know.
I also need two long cap bolts please.

You can't swap main bearing caps between blocks. They are line bored in situ. You might be lucky, but it would be luck, not by design.Richard

As Richard says, they are machined with the block and are kept as sets and are not interchangeable . I have heard of vintage engines been re bored to take a spare cap when no other option was available. but these D3 engines are fragile enough & the cost of getting it wrong is a scrap engine.

Yes, I understand that they are line bored. My local machine shop can rebore but I’m hoping to find some spares as close as possible to my original.
