It would be interesting to know if anyone is still getting replacements FOC because of this TSB or if LR have just gone on to ignore the problem Must stop buying shiny toys....

Many thanks to everyone for all your input, it turned out to be a crack in the right hand manifold and neither the RAC warranty nor LR are interested in correcting it. LR state that it isn't a safety issue therefore doesn't come under recall and the RAC won't pay as it's a "known issue".
On the up side the part is £103 and fitting by a specialist is £150 so could've been a lot worse!!

LR have got a nerve. I had the same issue and got nowhere with them. This is a known problem because of poor manufacturing and quality control on a non wear and tear part. Warranty companies know about it so won't cover it and LR just don't give a toss because of the age of the cars yet this is a fault because of their incompetence that owners are footing. Not great for confidence in the brand.
As for getting it replaced for £150 your garage must have made a massive loss on that! Its a lot of work to replace the inlet manifold. D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)

Luckily for me the guy fitting it is a LR tech who's doing it over 3 evenings at home for cash.

Appreciate this is a slightly old thread, but it appears LR will cover these IF your car is covered by the LR extended warranty. Just had the left one go last week, and a day after picking the car up from its replacement, I'm headed back to the dealer as the right has gone.
I got to find out that it's LR and not LR Extended Warranty who are picking up the tab due to some kerfuffle over who's paying for the rental car, and having to swap to the dealer's courtesy car half way through.
So in the last week, I had a Vauxhall Grand(b)Land (something I had never even heard of), a disco sport (which suddenly I actually liked for once), a day in a proper vehicle (mine) and I am now going to try the RR Velour.
