What's this cable for?....In the battery compartment.
Just checking things over on the new to me D4 (while it's not raining) and whilst connecting up the optimate cable noticed that apart from the breather cable not being connected - there was a cable dangling down the side. What is this cable supposed to plug in to?? There is a similar connector on the -ve connector but nothing i can see for this one.
Cheers

Transit connector. Ensures nothing happens electronically whilst on the back of the car transporter en route to dealer from factory..

What's the one on the -ve terminal for? That one is connected. In today's world, if you contribute something, you don't contribute enough. If you contribute nothing, you receive everything.

Well you didn't show us a photo of the negative terminal and my crystal ball isn't charged
There is a battery management system that is connected to both the positive and negative terminals to sense the battery state. I presume that's what you mean.

I didn't take a photo of that as the one I was interested in was the one not connected - which I now know to be the transit connector.
I just added the photo for historical purposes - I posted the question from my phone while out at the car and the photo never made it (my error).
Yes probably what it is on the -ve then.
