Freshly Polished Aintree Green
Hi All,
Decided after nearly 3 weeks of being inside, that it was time to get outside and what better excuse but to give the Disco the much needed polish. Gave it a good snow form, wash, clay and then a multi-stage polish with two strengths of pad and polish. Needed a hell of a lot of work on the sides as it had a very bad case of bramble rash (should have seen the doctor earlier). Unfortunately it still has the scares on the arches of the last Land Rover Monthly Offroad day as well.... but hey why have a LR and not use it Offroad.
Anyway here’s a few pictures of the old girl, hope you like. Any questions, just let me know.

And I thought I’d done a good job.

Truth be told, I’d missed the bottom half of the driver’s door & SWMBO had missed a third of the front passengers side.

For anybody considering doing a good polish of their Disco, after years of trying different products like Meguirs, Zymol, Menzerna, AutoGlym etc and some good quality all in one polishes, I tried Chemical Guys V range of products.
I used the V36 cutting polish with the orange Hex Pads, and the V38 final polish with the white hex pads. To be honest you could get away with the orange pads and the V36 for a one step polish it was that good. It really did remove the swirls really well, but on the doors took 3 passes to get them right before final pass with finishing polish. Finished off with a couple coats of Chemical Guys InstaWax.
Would really recommend the Chemical Guys polish and pad combination on a Dual Action Polisher.RLD CB Bracket

Beats my bucket (not that clean variety), old sponge, warm water & fairy liquid approach.

Got to finish the rest of it off now, not touched any of the trim, glass or anything else
Might as well do it right while nothing else interesting to do.RLD CB Bracket

Looks good want to do mine but guessing one of the lucky ones still working and job doesn't have a lot of contact with others scenic sites in the Chilterns Welsh Collie Chauffeur Service To Barney & Rooney.

Yep Aintree Green, and certainly don’t see many around, although is one in the same village as me
Thanks everyone, appreciate the feedback and was worth the effort. Wish I had a before and after picture with the amount of scratches and swirls it had.RLD CB Bracket
