Be extremely careful when fitting the boards, tighten the screws very lightly, don’t ask me how I know.
Ok.... I have to do it... how do you know? I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Ok, boards arrived yesterday, very well packaged and sent DHL to avoid delays.
Just follow the powerfuluk video on removing the wheel, don’t forget to unplug all accessories before starting!
Fitted yesterday but had to remove as the wiring from the white connector didn’t match up to the wires on the new pins, simple case of carefully lifting the white tabs, pulling the wires and reordering.. they should look like this
All now working perfectly so a very much cheaper way of doing this upgrade.. very good service from Fritjof...

I have been watching with interest. I have the blackbox boards fitted , but would like to try these boards with the white LED’s . Could you please take a picture of your steering wheel at night ?

You might have to wait a few hours I went for the green LEDs rather than white as I thought it might be distracting but will certainly take a photo a little laterI want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Gary, you’ve just answered a question I was going to ask about the back of the airbag sitting flush... wasn’t sure if it had curled up or that’s how it was... now I know
Will find the newer style airbag to go with my heated wheel when I do that... I can live with this one for now I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Hi
It does seem the D3 airbags curl up at the back
So when I was looking for another airbag I noticed the front of the airbags were different between the D3/4 , namely the fronts , where they are slightly angled and then if u look on mine the front is flat
Found a better picture , This is what it looks like with the green backlighting , plus can see the front of the airbag easier
Also see you’ve fitted D4 stalks, shame they don’t light up
Always happy to help where I can

Also as a side note , i added an Aux socket in the middle of the dashboard , hopefully I’ve hidden it well enough so doesn’t stand out , Lol, bought a loom which is all plug and play so don’t have to mess around with wires at the back of the radio
As urs in an HSE I just wasn’t sure if the aux socket came as standard and was just a thought ref mods

Hi all,
I got bitten by the bug too 😯😁. I'd bought a nice set of shiny stalks with the chrome trim at the beginning of lockdown and they're now in place and look lovely... what an improvement over the standard D3 ones!
Anyway I'd been reading up on swapping out my steering wheel for a D4 version (the leather has started going on my original 2008 one), although I always thought it would be too expensive to get the boards so dismissed the idea. That said I took the plunge last week and contacted Fritjof through FB Messenger when I heard he was doing them. I'm happy to say that I have a set of boards currently in the post with DHL (looks like I got in just in time) - They should arrive this week. Fortunately my D4 steering wheel arrived today and I've already stripped it down and swapped the wires around to make it compatible with the boards. I opted for the green LEDs by the way. I'll add some photos once they arrive and I've installed them. Can't wait now! 😎😁
