Nokia 6300 - PTI Function

Still getting to grips with all the bits...so another question.

My wife bought a Nolia 6300 today as it is one of the "fully compatible" phones (plus it also works with another car we have coming). She's just driven off to a meeting so we quickly activated Bluetooth and the phone/PTI connected. But the memory on the PTI remained empty.

I thought it automatically downloaded ? Does it take time - must admit I checked within seconds of the connection being made ? All numbers are on the SIM card, not phone memory so I don't know if this makes a difference.

The UK LR site mentions cradles over Bluetooth for phonebook download - I'm assuming this is out of date...

(And I thought things would be easier in the 21st century... Rolling with laughter )

The Bluetooth connection does not allow phonebook download accordingto the instruction manual. There has been discussion here of software upgrade to allow this but it appears not to work in all cases and the software upgrade appears no longer to be offered by dealers - at least I think that what the various threads concluded. Confused

Hi NHR - that's why I'm confused. The dealer was expecting my personal phone to download via Bluetooth when I picked the car up last weekend. It didn't, but it is an old Nokia no longer listed on the approved LR list so I can assume that's the reason this time.

With the MY08.5 I was under the impression the synch did work. The dealer is adamant his phone book synchronised.

Yes, that is odd. Each Land Rover seems to have a life of its own and there seems to be little consistency: what works in one doesn't in another and nobody seems to know why.

I must say that the telephone book function would be very useful although I have stored numbers I use often in the car manually so that I am able to activate them by the voice control. Not a perfect solution but still very good.
