2011MY radio reception issues |
|
Hi All,
I always had issues with the DAB and phone signal quality in my LR. I asked at the local LR dealership and they said it was highly likely it was the roof mounted antenna pod where the issue was. This filled me with hope until they told the cost of replacement!
Is there a decent independent close to Preston/manchester that is recommended that won't want me to donate a kidney to pay for the fix?
Has anyone replaced the stock head unit (Hardon version) with something a lot more modern and if so, what did you install and who did the installation?
Thanks

There are quite a few posts about DAB and DAB+ if you use the Search function.
TraileredMovements did an upgrade of his system which may help you:

Didn't update my earlier post, but will do.
Window antenna had limited capabilities, so bought a Connects2 CT27UV83 shark fin.
It has connections for DAB, AM/FM and GPS. Obviously needs a power supply, but other than that just holes for a single bolt and positionong lug.
I didn't want to take off the current blank roof cover, and anyway this has two mounting holes, so mounted the new antenna behind it.
Looks as if it belonged there, however it's double skinned at that point, so some 'modification' was required.
This works very well.
