Should be a great Higher spec camera so mounted it, turned it on and....
This picture was taken on permanent power after contact But, when i took the Current from the reverse light gives the same picture, but even less colour, more black and white ish, flickering with the colours you see here..
Does the early D4 screen, need PAL or NTSC camera? In the hidden menu i see it has „selected“ PAL with no option the change it manually..
Someone Any ideas?
Who has done this mod, with what type of camera?Best regards
Harold

My eBay camera that worked on the D3 screen worked fine with the D4 display.
The camera + signal went to the bottom pin on display connector ?

I have a MY14 with factory fitted reverse camera. I fitted a camera to the rear of my camper trailer and wired it to display on the D4 screen. This camera had to be a NTSC one, I originally tried it with a PAL camera but got a similar picture to your video.MY14 TDV6

The camera you linked to on Amazon indicates in the listing that it is a NTSC camera. If you want a PAL camera you have to "leave a message". Did you request a PAL version?MY14 TDV6

And that is why i ordered the NTSC type....
But as said it does not work in /on my screen it seems...
Before buying another one, i like to know a little bit more now... they are not for free
Do these early D4 screens “detect” a certain type of camera maybe. And did i get a PAL instead of a NTSC?
On the camera it self i see read nothing..
I have another cheaper camera, NTSC also i used to think, giving the same kind of image..Best regards

On my D4 display the PAL (video format) and WIDE soft buttons do not change the image at all. (they did on the D3). So this is worth noting.
As you have tried 2 camera's, you could either :
1) refit the old display and see if the camera works on the test page. If not, press the PAL button and then see if it works.
2) connect the camera into the other 2 inputs (to rule out a display problem) e.g the TV and accessory camera pins. Then go into the test page, and see if the camera works on the other inputs.
(please let me know which pins are TC etc) (i'm assuming + is always on the bottom)
Maybe the camera is too good for the display. e.g HD.
