Android Auto/Apple Carplay

I think I searched enough without success...

Considering an upgrade to the factory HSE spec to include Android Auto, ideally also utilising the touchscreen...

One "simple" option would be an adaptor to connect to one of the GVIF's RCA inputs - quite straight forward but would not have use of the touchscreen, which kind'a defies the point (if I have to use my phone to interface with whatever)...

Came across this which looks promising but not yet read the full blurb...

Has anyone done this (enable Android Auto on the OEM screen)? If so, how did you go about it please?
