HDC / Parking brake fault

Hi All,
On my way down to Plymouth today get to around where the M5 splits right to the south west past the RAC tower and a caravan decides his in the wrong lane and pulls across in front of me causing a swift application of the stop pedal, all is well and we proceed amongst profanities about certain drivers, I then get major lights on the dash HDC fault, vehicle lowering parking brake fault and limp mode, so I manage to pull over and stop in a dodgy area. Restart the car and all is fine for the rest of the journey. Car was fairly loaded ( we are moving home) but certainly not overload, the braking event happened on a slight down slope but not excessive. Car is fine now was it just a hissy fit or a warning sign? Any thoughts

You need to start with diagnostics, these are complex vehicles and there are many possibilities I could suggest, but that send you chasing your tail and ghosts all over the car!

You would then be back here with more questions than you had to begin with Laughing

If you don't have a GAP IID or similar you should seriously consider the investment. If not, in the meantime your best bet is to get it diagnosed, then post back here if you need any help Thumbs Up

After getting the codes i would start by replacing the brake pedal switch and brake bulbs

What code reader did you use? If there was a fault it will be logged so all the modules need to be checked.
