I fitted a set after having the bonnet resprayed and they were good quality

If you need to paint existing letters, and they have original standard spacing, Powerful UK supply a cutout stencil for positioning new letters. Used for masking, this would make your task a lot easier with a better result. Maybe another forum member has a stencil leftover after replacing letters.Chris

I had thought about painting them, but usually when I choose to paint things it turns into a bit of a shambles

I’d replace them with ‘Land Rover’ if mine ever need doing 😉

....... that's exactly what I did!
Thought DISCOVERY looked too brash.
Much happier with Land Rover on the bonnet of my MY14 D4.
Re painting letters, if they're gloss black, just spray them with a matte lacquer.
That'll take the shine off them....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Looks fine on the D3.
I think it's the combined swooped up silver grill trim on the MY14+ D4 models that gives it the brash look.
My opinion only of course. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

I ordered matte black front (LR), rear letters (model, engine, trim) from AliExpress the other day. The price wasn’t much and shipping was free.

Hi folks....
Does anyone know where I could lay my hands on the bonnet DISCOVERY letters in Matte Black?
Its either that or I will have to paint the gloss ones that are there already. Anyone done that?
