Parking Sensors - System fragile |

Are all parking sensors/looms so sensitive to water ingress/electrical gremlins etc ???
So, parking sensors wouldnt work initially with the usual flashing orange light and beeping.
Bought myself a diagnsotic checker and identified the faulty sensors and replaced them.
All working perfect for a month
Now, (And I am thinking after it has been washed) it is showing that both front and rear power circuit (fault codes B1B57/ B1B58) is this another bumpers off and check all the sensors again ?
I have checked the loom connections for the front and rear and looks dry (behind both light clusters)
Dont understand why both circuits are 'faulty' and what is actually triggering it.

The easiest thing is to remove the rhd drivers headlight, unplug the front park loom. Red yellow blue green black brown wiring.
Clear codes. Put in gear and park brake off
If that code comes back the fault is a rear sensors.
Obviously you will get codes for the 4 front sensors being disconnected

So I disconnected the front parking sensor loom and cleared the codes.
I then just got all x4 front sensors coming up with an error code.
So from that I deduce the problem is with the front loom and/or one of the sensors.
I then removed the outer font right, cleared codes and run the check again.
I then got outer front right sensor code error (Which lead me to belive it was this sensor).
So I swapped it with a different sensor, reset codes and got the power circuit error again.
This then made me believe the issue is with the loom wiring to the outer front sensor ?
I only had a lunchtime to take off bumper and check, so didnt get as long as I wanted to investigate, nor I am any kind of electrical buff.
I might get some more time at the weekend and get my hands on my multimeter, so happy for any more advice.

The trick to remember is :
If you unplug something (and clear the codes and probably select a gear with P brake off),
and the both front and rear power circuit code goes away you have unplugged the faulty component.
Obviously if you unplug a sensor, it will report it as faulty, as its not there. The important point is whether the short power circuit fault codes have gone or not (after a clear)
If the power short code hasn't gone (after a code clear), the faulty item is still plugged into the car.

So yes it does appear to be a problem at the front.
It could be that front side one you removed.
When you fitted a replacement, was it a new replacement ?

No, I only had the ones fitted to the car, so I just swapped them over.
I recently did all this last month and replaced all the faulty sensors as I had the usually flashing orange light and beep. Thought that was it and very happy.
I have a spare back in bristol, so when I go back I will swap it over with what I think is the faulty sensor and check the codes again.
Should just be a case of swapping, clearing codes and checking.
Its such a pain in the removing the front bumper, partial wheel arch by yourself all the time......
