Wiper change

Apols as I know his has been covered before but I cannot find it.
How do I park the wipers at the peak of their sweep so I can easily reach and change the passenger blade?

You don't need to (and probably can't) . Passenger blade easily changed from passenger side....takes about 2 min
 Club RLD spare wheel protection
Club RLD skid plate
Club its all black
Club D3 - it's gone
Club D4 - just arrived and still all black

I've changed wiper blades on many cars on all kinds of brands for around 50+ years - including my wifes Toyota a few weeks ago.....

But I cannot change the blades on this bloody LR - even my 43 year old son (who works for Volvo - and regularly goes out to customer cars on the forecourt to change theirs) gave up!

I watched the LR chap change my front ones a while ago - but no..., I still can't do it FFS! Twisted Evil

I fitted a new passenger blade 4 years ago.

Can I get it off? No!

Even got the wd40 on it. Still don’t want to budge

I'm sure the wipers on my 2010 D4 have the same fitting as most of the other cars I've owned. Am I missing something?

Hi Pete

Had that with my drivers side , ended up using a small screwdriver ( by the bottom arrow ) to slide it up the arm to lift the small plastic part out of the hole, or using long nose pliers to also get the clip out of the hole , then sliding the wiper blade towards u

Ps hope this finds u well mate

Yeah I know changing a wiper blade is fairly easy (certainly the removal part Rolling with laughter )

Mine are cheap aero ones (but lasted very well). Must be rusted on
In fact they are exactly the same as the ones in the video

If they won't budge next time I will have to remove the arm. (thankfully had the arms off in February)

I’ve not managed to find a way of parking the wipers arms or being able to pull them away so they stay away from the wind screen to make changing easy. It seems you have to do it from the bottom parked position and hold the arm out from the windscreen while you’re changing the blades. Never found anything in the manual about how to do it either, so assume not possible.
Cheers

Try switching wipers on then switch ignition off at the point you want them stopped, never had to do this but if it helps? Thumbs Up

Make sure the ignition is switched off.

Switch the ignition on and then off again.

Immediately press the wash/wipe control to its lowest position, as if to command a single wipe. Hold this position while switching on the ignition again. The wipers move to the service position.

When the new parts have been fitted, switch the ignition off. The wipers return to the park position.

Thumbs Up

U saying about the arms I had a terrible job getting them off, had to use a puller in the end as no way were they budging

Got Aeros twins on mine and must admit this time not overly impressed with them, will try some other makes next time, terrible in heavy rain

Can I also suggest putting a towel or something soft under where the blade/arm parks in case it slides out of your hands during the process... the spring in the arm is very strong and will slam the arm back into the windscreen with great force....
Enough to crack your new windscreen....don’t ask me how I know.... Shocked
