The disc installed is not a MAP DVD

Hi folks..

For some unknown reason, I've had this message come up on my sat nav...

The disc installed is not a MAP DVD

I've not done anything to the disc and its been in for several years with no issue.

I've taken the disc out and out it back in, but it still says the same.

Anyone had this or any ideas what's causing it / how to fix it?

Thanks all..

Disc dirty or damaged
Belt worn
Lens dirty

It is getting old, at least 12 years now in a D3... and yours 15 years i see in your profile

Sometimes a recalibration of the lens, will work.
But then you have to open it up...
 Best regards
Harold

.... is calibration of the lens straight forward??

Happy taking the unit out and apart haha... im sure the disc is OK but I will take it out and give it a clean and put it back in and see what happens 😀👍🏻

Cover off and with a screwdriver... thing is.... is has to be plugged in... to see if it is picking up the DVD...

And you know where it is fitted....

Somewhere here is a “how to” for it..

but before i came to it, to do, i just bought another dvd unit for 60 quid. I thought is wasn’t worth the hassle under the chair, trying, laying half in the cabin, half out.. (iam 1,94 m) and maybe for nothing...

Then a D4 unit showed up on ebay for 80 quid, and i fitted that screen (in this model there is a harddisk inside with the maps) now i have still old maps but 5 years younger, a much nicer screen etc and a rearview camera, which turns on automatically when going into reverse, within the Land Rover screen (so no RRS mod needed)
 Best regards
Harold

So I've managed to get it out and clean it all, cover off etc... but still no joy.

Going to see if I can get another disc to try, but what do I do to calibrate it?

Cheers 🙂👍🏻

Don't know if you can either buy a second hand unit or as i did a brand new optical drive from aliexpress not a cheap way to do it but takes out the risk of buying a second hand unit and will be good for years to come Thumbs Up
