Restricted Performance
Hi i'm new to the forum and to owning my first Disco, a 4 HSE Lux 2013. I'm super pleased with the car and it's been great but this morning I had a 'Restricted Performance' warning come up on the dash, any advice much appreciated?
Thanks
Andy

Hi
A bit more information could be helpful here such as what you were doing at the time, and has it cleared after a restart
Any other sysmtoms such as odd noises, evidence of leaks, also did the car actually go into any restricted mode or just give you a message?
What is the service history on the car, and did you buy from a dealer?
First thing is if you are a private buyer and have no warranty coverage would be to get a good trusted local independent that actually knows these vehicles to read the fault codes - this will give you a lot of clues to the problem and hopefully some answers. Please also not that the typical ODBCII readers dont really provide a good picture of the issues and only hint at the problems, a tool such as an IID is neccessary to get a true picture of what might be going on. If you post on the forum for someone locally who can read your codes there might be someone in your area who would meet you for a few minutes and plug your car into their reader to give you the codes.
It might help if you were to give a little more information in your profile - whereabouts in West Sussex are you?
Good luck.

Hi,
Many thanks both of you for the replies, so more detail, it did go into restricted performance and on opening the bonnet with it running and revving it I can hear air from somewhere and what looks to be a small amount of oil! I'm in Crawley by the way.

OK so at a guess you either have a cracked inlet manifold (they are a polymer material and early ones had issues with moulding quality) or perhaps you have a hose that is split or worked loose - some pictures of the area where the noise is coming from and any crud patches might also help.
Has the Restricted Performance continued after the car was restarted?Must stop buying shiny toys....

You might want to watch this as this could be the cause, -
However there are a lot of other pipes and connectors that may not be connected or worked loose - take a look at the FAF sensors - these can also be swapped around to see if one has gone faulty as they are the same.

Looks to be the same area as the video I posted
probably a cracked inlet manifold which is drawing air under vacuum bypassing the measured air supply the vehicle is expectingMust stop buying shiny toys....

Some mighty high pressures in there thanks to the secondary turbocharger. The early plastic manifolds were just not strong enough.
A few lucky folk had their manifolds replaced foc. Mitsubishi Outlander Phev 4H 2018.

Does anyone please know from when the new manifolds were firred, and whether they solved the problem?

Interesting that the LR document refers to Inlet Manifolds as "Valve Covers" - or am I reading it wrongly?
