All this talk about the FBH and emails received reminded me does anyone know anything about the below and how to get around it?

Update…..
Received a response from the eBay seller and I asked him why mine don’t work and what the password is.
He replied with……
“My friend... the password is at the Webasto Factory. Only with their help can we make your heater functionaly. The procedure is as follows: The current software is extracted with the help of a Webasto diagnostic device (see in my ads on ebay) and sent to Webasto. After we pay 100£, he will send us an unlocked and functional software that we must insert into the electronic unit of the heater”.
So why do I have to change the firmware and payout extra where others have just installed his device and works first time?
In my humble opinion, there are just two different firmware. The standard one and a special one for the FBH fitted in Land Rovers, to avoid owners to use other generic remote controllers (not sold by LR).
That affect the F-Bus functions, all CAN-Bus functions seem to work pretty fine.

Yes agreed but other have purchased the same controller and it works fine but not mine.
The only other way is a LR own device.
Why wait, just go for it and enjoy life.

Shamrock.
The full sized range rovers in 2005 used the WBUS to start the heater from remote control.
The disco 4 does the same when the receiver unit is fitted in the rear right.
I think the disco 3 in 2005 had the option for Russian markets. The connector is in the middle of the roof. But the wiring was deleted after this year. (Hence no red wire at heater on later D3)
I guess in the D4 you need to ensure you don’t use timed climate (can) and remote (w bus) at the same time as it will confuse the heater.

The FFRR uses K-bus, not W-bus to control the Thermo Top C, the remote is a Webasto one but just sends a 12V 'start' signal directly to the TT-C, the TT-C then sends an 'active' signal on K-bus which in turn fires up the ATC. The timer function is set via the TSD but is actually controlled by the IPK - on K-bus. The use of K-bus is part of the BMW legacy which LR under Ford were gradually squeezing out, IMO they should've stuck with the K-bus implementation which could have worked so well with the L319/320's as the control systems were already in place and could have been easily ported across.

Is it possible that your FBH has been replaced/repaired at some point? I have several control boards for TT-V's from various implementations and not all are capable of being triggered with W-bus, it could be either you have a defective controller, the pin grip is insufficient so you're not making a good contact or the controller is incapable of accepting the external command you're sending it.
There was a workaround using a Webasto 1533 timer where a 433MHz single channel remote or GSM module could be wired across the 'heat' button to send the 'start' command on W-bus to the TT-V. If you could get hold of a timer, you could at least test the input.

If you are expecting an engine start to have fired it up, check climate control panel on.
Do you have remote fbh start, which is what this thread is aimed at
That is what I wasn't sure about, there is no mention of having the Climate Control set to anything specific in the handbook.A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.

it came in with L405 in 2013, only for the remote though. W-bus is like a child that doesn't know how to play nicely with others, it's very disruptive and keeps waking up the neighbours - which is why the timer implementation in L319 was removed.

I've seen them done on the reverse side (with much thinner wire - CAT5 cores from memory) but yes, that's the general arrangement.
