I just went back out and took it for a six yard drive, and a few more errors came up. The suspension has also lowered.

So I turned it off and on again a couple of times, and was able to restart, and the hazards came back on along with transmission faults. One swift whack on top of the instrument cluster, and the hazards go off. I'm no expert, and welcome more experienced viewpoints, but I think this could be the problem.
This also makes sense with the 'Show All ECUs' where it appears no cluster was detected? Or am I mistaken?
Now I need to find a cluster with fewer kms, which could be quite tricky, and then code to the vehcile with the IID? Or have mine sent away to get repaired.

IPC says not fitted, was that when faulting?
I am wondering if the instrument pack is dropping out, causing an issue.

Looks like the instrument pack is the problem.
The main processor gets dry joints, causing the issue.
Re-flowing all the pins will repair it. But not a job if you haven’t done it before!

Owning a 2005 HSE V8 myself I would recommend the following:
1.) Check Battery and make sure fully charged - low Battery gives all kind of errors
2.) Replace all 4 brakelight bulbs with new ones even if they work fine (minimal cost) - sounds stupid but one bulb that is not working 100% can also cause several of the errors you reported (mine gave the Transmission and suspension error due to brakelight bulbs)
3.) Clear all errors and see which errors return
4.) Check the black Plastic on both sides of the Windscreen - you can pull it off starting from the top and might see water running down behind the panel and running through the lower mounting holes into your main AC Connectors on either left or right sites. Best fixed by investing into new plastic parts and new mounitng clips
Good Luck with your car!

It behaved today. Wondering if the connector is merely loose and needs some packing to keep in place, or whether its dry joints.
If the latter, my apprenticeship soldering may be put to use.

A 2005 dash doesnt normally suffer with dry joints it was only 2007 dashes that used the lead free solder that causes the issues.

Hello all,
Did you ever get to the bottom of this issue - was it the Instrument Cluster internals or connector?
