OIL INDICATOR FAILURE
Good morning, recently it happened to me that when checking the oil indicator when the engine was cold (car not in the box- external temp +/- -6 ° C) level that the day before was Ok, the message BELOW MIN!
At this point I did not start the engine, I added about 1 Kg of oil (from the manual 1.5 Kg) then started the engine, warmed up to normal temperature and then checked again with the correct display of the level at ~ - 1/8 of the Max
During the day I have carried out various checks with always Ok
The following morning (car not in box outside temp = +/- 6 ° C) I have had the same problem again; at this point I have not added oil, started the engine and checked again with the correct display of the indicator (Ok).!
Currently I am keeping the car in the box and in the morning the display shows me the level correctly.
Prior to these episodes with outside temperatures +/- -12 ° C (car not in box) the indicator always gave me Ok:
The oil engine has about 12,000 Km (Oil change @ May 2020) My intention now is to replace the oil by checking the quantity recovered
Can anyone tell me what the problem is?
There is a kit with the oil dipstick to be applied in correspondence with the oil recovery pipe
what condition is your battery in? my first thought was sensor but not sure keeping the car warmer would affect it so obviously..

Back in the winter, the problems with my oil level indicator continue, probably due to a problem with the connector; i found these interesting:

Oil level indicator
Very well done, an excellent article by two very clever and able people.
This should be helpful with other jobs such as diff and drive shaft removal.
