Engine cover cutting through rad hose
I noticed some snippet of a comment in a post the other day. So I had a look at where the top rad hose passes under the engine cover. To my shock I found a very deep cut where the cover has been rubbing on the hose.
I have ground away the cover with a dremmel to prevent it cutting any more but it is approx 3 to 4 mm deep.
I recommend you all pop the bonnet and check for yourself as it looks to be a design issue.Discovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch 😂

Certainly will! But I'd have thought this would have been highlighted before if this was a common issue (and to my admittedly limited knowledge hasn't). Which makes me perhaps think there's something with your particular vehicle. A slightly oddly bent hose or perhaps somehow not positioned correctly or something. Perhaps.

Yes, exactly. Notified some time back (regular reading of new posts is definitely recommended). Checked my car at the time and still do from time to time. Appears om my model MY16 the gap around this hose is a bit bigger as doesn't seem to be within 5mm (yet).Gary

I dont think its a design fault, i think its an error when refitting the cover. I had the same happen after a service. Hose replaced, cover refitted and its never moved since.
