Help! Brake are seized

Haven’t use the car for awhile. Brakes are seized. Presumably rust. Any suggestions?

Rear offside off the ground and ain’t budging. That disc is very rusty. EBP is making a noise but not sure if if I would know if it’s working or not.

I have had this before if you park up (for a long time) with the EPB engaged Big Cry

Last time I bit the bullet, placed the car gearbox into low range and gave it a boot full of throttle. There's probably a lot of reasons this is not the smartest thing to do Whistle It releases eventually but makes quite a jolt. Your foot needs to be back on the brake peddle quite smartish.

It also seems to seize on after pressure washing the car and leaving it for a few days.

One thing to note if you try the low range 'method' as the vehicle pulled forward it went sideways slightly (as one wheel is 'locked'). Just be careful as the sideways slide (a foot or so).

I no longer use the EPB at home on the driveway ............ for this very reason.

Just my thoughts, good luck Thumbs Up

EPB

I was wondering about this - My Disco is on my level driveway. Is it best to not bother engaging the brake whilst it's parked?

I use the EPB very little but particularly not at home (where the vehicle stays stationary for days at a time, especially in the lockdown periods).

I have a slight incline, put in park, lift the brake pedal slowly and you will feel the car rest against the 'gearbox'.

Thumbs Up

Will see what Land Rover Assistance can do.

Won’t budge under low range either although not keen on ‘flooring it’! Might snap something!

either take the wheel off and give the hub a clump with a bit of wood and a hammer or try going thru the wheel onto the calliper and try a gentle tap with a block of wood and a hammer (thats prob all lra will do)
 please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick,thankyou
