Multimeter Recommendations
I want to buy a multimeter for general use.
Primarily in the first instance for checking leisure batteries in the caravan and occasionally on the D4 and the wife’s sporty little number.
There is a whole host of cheap Chinese ones on Amazon.
Anybody got any recommendations or guidance on what to choose.

Money no object.... Fluke 😂😃😂
More common sense answer would be Extech (have one as spare at work) or Amprobe/Klein.
Not used the Chinese ones, but probably sufficient for your needs.RLD CB Bracket

Second fluke, wouldn’t buy anything else. You remind me of a younger me, not much younger mind...perhaps even a little older!

Thanks for the replies.
The Fluke look great but probably way overkill for what I will ever do with it.
NoDo$h the foxwell is interesting. Do you think it works as well and in the same accurate way with Leisure Batteries as they are not technically crank batteries?

For a more cost effective option, machine mart do a decent Draper one.
I tried a cheap Aldi one, lasted a couple of months.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

I've used it on leisure batteries and it's seemed pretty good - it allows you to set the rating type (CCA/SAE - EN - DIN etc) and tests accordingly.
There's a useful guide on battery analysis where there's no CCA/DIN rating provided by CTEK

Gentlemen,
Thank you for all the advice and pointers.
I have been on a steep multimeter learning curve and I have made a purchase.
I have gone for the Amazon Commercial 90DM600
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B083V8FYQM/ref...&psc=1
Having watched the videos that Philm posted, including a tear-down, it looks like a good bit of kit.
It looks pretty robust and also comes with its own case and accessories.
I will unlikely use all of its features but hopefully it will be good for years to come.
Thanks again - your help and guidance was much appreciated.
The other good news it was on offer at the time of me looking at it with 28% off so got it for £35.

I have a Kyoritsu 2046R DC clamp meter. Would be lost without it.
A trick for low amp readings.
My meter only goes down to 0.1 amps. If you loop the cable through the clamp say 4 times you will get a reading 4 times the actual amps. Divide the figure by 4 for your actual value.Visitor - Freelander owner
