Owned an MG Montego and MG Maestro, 2 of the most reliable cars I’ve ever owned. Quite nippy in their day, comfy and roomy. Often think they’ve been given too harsh a reputation over the years.
Just wish some of the Land Rovers I’ve owned over the years had behaved so well  Discovery 4 HSE

I too had a montego estate 1.6 in diamond white. Loved that car. It would slow down on slight hills on the motorway. But so good for the dogs and very reliable. Before that I had the marina estate 1.7 hlx. Sunburst red. Another treat of a car with deep pile carpets and the longest gear stick on the world, full reach ahead to first and full reach behind to second. Like driving a boat through town
