the references to "Hammerite" ... do you all mean "Smoothrite" ?

also, "Hammerite" products include, ISTR, BBQ or Oven versions. would they be better ? how hot do the calipers get ?

I've been painting brake calipers for years, and always used hammerite with no problem.

Even when I've had a sticky bake caliper that has got so hot you can smell it the paint hasn't been affected Thumbs Up

Painted my fronts today, black with the white logo, not bad for what look like the original callipers I think.

Keeps it nice in with the black theme of the car as well Smile
Will try and get the back done over the next couple of days while works quite over the Easter break.

Are those decals stick-on or do you have a very steady hand?

Did my fronts this morning, been planning it for a while but was waiting for the new jack and axle stands to arrive.

I know yellow is frowned upon by many but I think it looks good with the black wheels, and let’s face it anything is an improvement on the state they were in, pretty poor given it’s only a six year old car.

Fido, while I wish I could paint like that Smile they’re transfers, got them from here
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANY-COLOUR-6-hi...890.l49286

Supposedly printed for callipers so will see how long they last, guy sends them in 3 sizes, plus a bonus full size one, which has ended up on a Union Jack mug lol so the dishwasher will get first crack at the quality

Nice! Tempted to get some just to cover the wife's 'Ford' logo.

Oh. That sounded dodgy....

Did mine last year.
Just used brake cleaner spray, wire brush and Hammerite smooth.
Painted the callipers, hubs, disc outer edges and stone guard.
Black of course ...... any other colour on a D4 would be criminal.
Just added an LR oval logo in black/white to each calliper for that little extra touch.
Still holding up ok today when I snow foamed & pressure washed the D4

Pic of mine after one year.
