2010 D4 navigation maps update

Hi all,

Is it possible to update the maps of a 2010 D4 HSE? How would I do this? What’s the latest year I can update to and where can I find these updates?

Thanks in advance

I've got a 2010 D4 too. I think it used to be possible to update the satnav for a couple of years, but it was a main dealer plug-in and wait job, plus the inevitable bill. But there was a cut off point, date-wise, which I can't remember that meant it was going to be nowhere near up to date anyway. The best advice I got was either continue to use it as is, and accept that you will be shown crossing fields on that new bypass or get an aftermarket sat-nav, TomTom or similar, which is by far the cheapest and most up to date option, even if a bit annoying. Of course if you've got a smart phone and a dashboard holder, you can use that.

I thought of updating mine after 3 years of ownership and if I remember it was going to be around £500 at the dealers and that was back in 2013.
I use CoPilot GPS on my phone and Ipad now . Ipad in the motorhome for Europe and phone in the car if the address is not in the Car SatNav.

CoPilot is for Iphone or Android at £15 for life with updates each year.

I wouldn't waste my money at best the LR SatNav is Censored

I would suggest using a smart 'phone or tablet with an appropriate program. I use Waze, but there are many free, or low cost, alternatives.

An average sized smart phone sits over the dash screen quite nicely (as long as you don't accelerate too hard) and will provide far better sat nav than any updated LR map.

Yeah, don't bother. Just use Google maps or Waze and get live traffic updates, etc. It'll never go out of date whereas the second you install the new maps on the built in sat nav, they're already outdated. Spend the money on other mods instead. Cool
