She won’t want it sold, she’ll want the road re-routed.

Feel sorry for her
Poor Lady, she bought the hose in good faith and some nasty highways people came during the night and moved the road closer
We have a house that our local council plan to put a road this close to it and have been messing about for funding for 18 years and still haven’t put a shovel into the ground, she really must be unlucky they were able to move this so close to her house overnight without informing anyone!

Apparently she also viewed it seven times before buying. You would have thought she would have noticed the A road over the fence.2013 RR Vogue SE SDV8

According to the article the road was quiet every Saturday morning she visited....imagine that.
If I were buying a property near such a road, I'd be there Monday morning, Friday evening, Saturday night, Sunday day time to gauge the levels of traffic and if it attracts Saturday night knob heads. Not just on the second quietest day of the week. 2014 D4 XS

No sympathy at all, however, the reasons why someone gave planning permission to build so close to a busy trunk route seriously needs to be addressed.
Should there be a major incident on that stretch, a truck could quite easily end up in their garden or worse, in the house.
Utter madness to build, and then to buy it!

Also amazed that it can be safe to build that close to a NSL road.
No sympathy for her however. We had a similar problem a few years ago in Gloucestershire concerning the M5. People blamed the noise on the surface deteriorating and I believe it was resurfaced in the end but really the problem was building and buying a house 20m away from a motorway.
If a busy road is built near a housing estate, I'm sure they have to provide extra high sound absorbent fencing along the whole affected area. I know when I used to live in Rugby this was the case on the relief road that was only a single carriageway 50mph road. Surely the house builders should have had to do the same. Admittedly a fence that high and close to the property would look unsightly and block the view.
I also can't believe how much she actually paid for that house, the estate agent should be ashamed for charging that much!1972 Range Rover Classic 2 door V8
