Paint pens and PPF

Hello,

Got a query, my gorgeous German Shepard loves the car and loves car rides. She gets rather excited and her paws have left some little light scratches, which I’m going to try use the Meguiar's scratch removal (hopefully works).

I did wonder if anyone has used the paint pens similar to this https://www.jgs4x4.co.uk/indus-silver-paint-touch-up-pen/ .? Are they worth it and what’s the best one to go for if anyone has used them?

Finally has anyone had PPF attached wondering about getting it for just the rear as I’m sure someone said the cost for the full car is around £3000 and don’t think it’s required.

Thanks
Chris

Good afternoon,

A couple of 'rules of thumb' for scratches in the clear coat as the USA likes to call it.

1) Rub it gently with your fingernail. If you nail bumps across it is very unlikely you will be able to 'simply' polish it out (likely the scratch has made it to the paint) Rolling Eyes

2) Wet your finger and gently dab the visible scratch, if it momentarily disappears (but returns as the surface dries) then there is every chance you can polish that out Smile

Try that before you invest in any pens and therefore unnecessary expense.

I once took a notorious British key scratch from the whole side of SWMBO's Tiguan using a dual action polisher and Meguairs.

You may find this helpful - I used this video as my approach.

Also worth checking of it is just scratches in the lacquer as this can be touched in without having to use a base paint and then lacquer on top.

Quick spam removal there - was gone before I had a chance to report it !
