Yep, picked the old girl up from the dealer today and he confirmed that it was the lower suspension arm bushes. Replaced and ready to go. However its absolutely tipping it down today so I've no idea if its worked. But by the sound of you guys, this should be it. Let's have some sunny warm weather to try it out properly!
They refused to even contemplate changing the steering wheel however, so am considering talking straight to LR. Oh well.
After a day and a half in a loan Freelander 2, boy am I glad to be back in my Disco! It's reminded me how much I love the old girl... ONE LIFE. LIVE IT. Simple, and true...

Mine been checked by dealer, no visible problem, will hang on to service (still 1200 miles.
However the noise is getting unbearable from both sides with the windows down. Car sounds like it is on its last legs!!!! end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......
