You've obviously never had dealings with Police Scotland Not even in a brewery springs to mind from personal experience, ..
I was broken into a few years ago whilst away in the caravan. Got home to find the house trashed called 999 “ yes sir we will have someone round” 60 secs later a phone call from the control room “sir we see you are a firearms holder are your weapons secure?” Yes says me. Ok someone will be round. 8hrs later with a insecure house, window smashed and not to clean up till plod arrived I call back and tell them I think a set of my gun cabinet keys are missing and I’m concerned they may come back for my weapons. Ten mins later ARV pulls up to help😉
I surrendered my guns that night as I couldn’t find the spare keys in the mess. Ordered new locks and picked up my guns from the station when I changed the locks. Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

The only part of American law I agree with, as there is no excuse for anyone to go on someones elses property without invitation or reason.
The problem with that is that it quickly ends up with people getting shot. Ask Harry Collinson. Or rather you can't because he was killed. He was a planning officer trying to deal with a man who had illegally built a house. No doubt Collinson wasn't invited on to the property by the man that shot him.
Just an example of how quickly these things go from "great idea!" to "oh, sh!t!".
The other part about being "allowed" to shoot burglars, is the risk of the burglar, or his mate, taking the gun off you before you are able to use it. Now you have a baddie with a gun. That's double "oh sh!t".Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they were always going to have to do from the very beginning: SIT DOWN AND TALK!"

Do you think this sign gets the meaning across 🤣🤣
Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!
i have a joke sign i was given for my birthday that says ''TRESPASSERS WILL BE SHOT, SURVIVORS WILL BE SHOT AGAIN''
but i darent put it up on my gate since it was in the news that someone with the same sign had been approached by the police following calls from worried passers by.
We have the same sign. But chose not to put it up till after the firearms inspection had been.
