Tesla screen in D3 HSE with Logic7?
Has anybody here successfully upgraded the D3 multimedia header? My D3 HSE has the HK Logic7 system and I'd love to upgrade it to a Tesla style media interface like this one..
If anyone has tried this do you know if can it replace the header for the Logic7 system or will it mean me having to mega-faff with the current wiring? The spec only mentions a 4x50W output, which I guess would be fine for linking into a model D3 without the HK sound system, but obviously the Logic system is a different sack of spuds entirely.'

No idea or your question but the dash panel is different and doesn't seem to come with the unit, can't see on the advert anything re this panel and IMO the panel fitted looks terrible but each to their own I suppose

Yeah the panel would be in need of a repaint to match my D3 but I'm not too worried about doing that.
There are a couple of posts on here about identical upgrades on a D4 which all came with with the panel supplied, the system would be useless without one.
It's the technical interface that I need to find out about - interfacing with the current HK Logic7 (possibly bypassed if this links via AUX therefore still using the Logic7). There might also be a compatibility issue regarding resistive/capacitive OEM screens but I'll chase that up with the manufacturer before/if I decide to go ahead.

None of those systems seem mention regarding the MOST bus so they’re connected using AUX.

I'd be happy with it via AUX, and it makes sense to go that route as it removes any need for interfacing with Logic7. Not sure how balance/fader would operate though, I think A/V controls are done via a ribbon cable which interfaces to the OEM screen circuits. ISTR seeing 4x4 info on one of the demo vids so I guess the unit grabs MOST info via the interface to the OEM screen.

Do you mean via the original 'screen' interface because the radio header with the audio buttons gets removed in order to fit the new bigger screen?'

The original LR module connects to the rear of the Tesla style/Android screen and has a pass through function, so you get access (via Console screen menu) to all original screen functions with same display as before.RLD CB Bracket

I'll take some photos and let you know how I get on. I'm surprised there's nobody on here posting on this subject, so I hope that isn't a bad omen.
Must say it was a struggle to find the D3 model though, perhaps it's reaching end of life, so I decided to get one now while I still can. There are plenty of models for D4/RRS/FFRR/Freelander but only the one D3.
If it's half as good as it looks then I'll be a happy bunny.'

A few of of us have gone with the Android screen replacement for the OEM screen recently.
