Its finally arrived and how impressed are we??? |
|
Picked up our D3 on Friday night both hubby and I were like excited kids on Christmas morning
Of course I had to drive the Volvo back home and hubby and son were in the disco, my word does it fly down the motorway, much much much quicker than our tuned TD5, and doing about 29 miles per gallon.
Yesterday the 19inch alloys were put on and a general check over carried out and I finally got to drive it, be it only home! We didn't get to service it or tune it yesterday as we were so busy at work!
Today Hubby took son to Droitwich ruby club and they had to drive through deep mud/straw not what you call hard core off road but I know our TD5 would have struggled and it was quite deep and sticky, well how excited was he to try the off road button thingy and how impressed he was with the car driving itself Other 4x4 were really struggling and he just ponced through.
I haven't seen him smile so much for ages, and feeling very very assured that spending quite a bit of dosh on this car was def the right thing to do
He is now reading the software ready for the upgrade on Monday and we are surfing the internet for steps, dog guard and bumper with fogs if anyone can advise us the best place to purchase these I would be really grateful.
Sorry to sound boring to you harden D3 guys but we weren't expecting so much from this car. Oh the only disappointing thing is that it is only doing 25ish mpg around the town, is this normal?

The Large One - aka Nic, parts manager at Yeovil Land Rover is your man for all new Land Rover stuff. Healthy discount and a jolly decent chap too.
Front bumper, ebay is your friend. A number of people on the forum have bought for £180 from this chap http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...amp;ih=006 This includes, bumper (email him as he has painted ones too) fogs, loom etc all you need is a £20 light switch from Nic.
Alternatively as these have front PDC sensors too, somebody may have upgraded and has one to sell ? Stick a wanted post in for Zermatt front bumper with fogs "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

There's an unpainted bumper with lights and PDCs (from the picture) going by 20:00hrs on eBay. Currently £102
TorqTune 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods
