HELP: vibration and odd tyre wear- what’s causing it?
Hi
My D4 has recently developed a vibration under braking on the o/s, particularly noticeable under heavy braking.
New discs and pads fitted a year ago and Disco Mickey replaced lower arm bushes 6000 miles ago.
There doesn’t appear to be anything loose and no play in wheel bearings.
The o/s tyre is wearing faster than the near side and it has an odd ‘scuffing’ on the outer tyre wall (see photos). If it’s not the discs, pads or lower wishbone bushes- what might it be?? Any ideas??
Didn't someone on here recently fault-find it down to being the wheels not sitting flat on the hubs ? pull wheels off, thoroughly clean mating surfaces and refit ?

I had exactly the same on my RRS, the tyre wear gave the game away, and although the bearing appeared not to have any play in it, when it was off it clearly showed signs of wear.
A replacement cured high speed vibration and the same when braking hard.

Appears to be something known as "Chip and Chunk" and covered by a TSB from JLR...

Swap the tyres round, front to back, diagonal if they are not uni-directional. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
