D4 year and mileage question
Hi, after a year in a D5, I'm going back to a D4. I previously owned a '12 HSE SDV6, which I sold with 84k miles, having bought it with 9k miles. We live in Kingston upon Thames, so with the ULEZ likely to extend in time, I'm wondering if a ULEZ friendly '16 model makes sense. Also, were there any major differences between the '12-'16 models?
Also, how should I think about mileage? I realise the belts need doing at c 90k miles. However, Woodside Garage's selection clearly shows a premium between sub 50k miles and closer to 100k.
Any advice is appreciated.
Regards
Jeremy

Yes, an euro 6 vehicle probably makes sense if you’re going to be within or very close to a low emission zone. I think the euro 6 engine is also mapped differently, people have said it feels more responsive than previous.
As far as I know belts are due at 105k miles or 7 years whichever comes first.

Very little difference in spec until 2015 models, you do get the HSE Lux version with a few extra toys, and then the run out models of Graphite and Landmark. Both come with Ad Blu to ensure Euro 6 compliance.

As Kajstu says all MY16 cars were remapped and give a much improved gear change, they also come with a hefty premium on price at the moment! I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Me too, luckily AT showed me that prices are far above the level where I would survive a “dear, I quite fancy one of these ………” discussion with Mrs DSL.

Surely the value of Skippy has gone up by the same percentage?... just need to use "man maths" to justify... but I suppose Mrs DSL is very used to that by now ? I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

To be transparent, I paid £32,995. One owner, FLRSH, MoT and also fully serviced by Woodside prior to me taking delivery. New discs, pads, plenty of life in the Grabbers. I was really impressed with James at Woodside. Another friend recommended him after he bought a similar car.
The dealer I've just sold my '19 D5 back to offered me a 16 plate D4 Landmark with 47k miles, for £40k. I think I got a good deal from a reputable firm.

She’s an ex-accountant so man-maths doesn’t work on her. Plus I’m not sure I’m ready to go back to LRs, I’m enjoying the easy/reliable/low cost/low stress/pain free life.

Picked up a 2015 HSE from Woodside yesterday and I echo what you say. James & Mark were very good.
A well presented car from a garage that know what they are about.Just 'cause you got the power... that don't mean you got the right.
