Yes, plus £sd. At least kids might end up more mathematical having to add, take away, divide. Whistle

Use both: there are many times when being divisible by (1), 2, 3, 4 and 6 makes multiple of 12" easier, cm an inconvenient interval or 1/8" or 1/4" match by cutting accuracy!

Ah, the lovely hours spent polishing threepenny bits...

I completely disagree. We should have gone properly metric years ago!

Paid £6.50 for a gallon yesterday. Softened by getting 54.2mpg but still ouchy.

Why anyone would consider going back to the imperial system for nothing more than nostalgic reasons is beyond me. The metric system is vastly superior in terms of logic and use. We should have gone over to kilometres years ago. Very Happy

I was actually thinking the other day that I'm surprised the Brexiteers haven't been shouting for this.

Bring back the Groat, anybody ?

I’m quite happy with the hybrid system we have atm, it doesn’t need messed with for the sake of it. I use the unit type that suits me, eg driving I use miles in UK & US, kms elsewhere, and for running I use kms. Most of us have enough brain capacity to cope with more than one unit for the same thing. Whistle

What's wrong with both? I'm in precision engineering and design, I work in mm, and µm, but if I'm talking to an American client I'm as happy talking about inches and thou.
We're much better at dealing with two systems than many other countries.

I've only recently started talking about my weight in kg and my running in km, but still work out my cars efficiency (or lack of) in mpg.

Two measurement systems, no problem!
