I have found this cars more frugal replacement for my commute. It’s time for it to move onto pastures new. Probably an hour before the snow comes knowing my impeccable timing......
Time to move my Discovery or my wife’s Volvo XC70 on. We need a town car.
Discovery has 206,000 miles on the clock. It has been a fabulous car for me. Owned it for three or four years. Bought it off a member on this site. It has had 3 former keepers. It’s a lovely Tonga green.
MOT till Feb 2022.It’s auto. Has a more modern grill fitted and original grill in my garage still. I have the rear load space nylon load cover too but not currently fitted.
In my ownership it’s had over four and a half thousand pounds spent on it. High pressure fuel pump new,fuel distribution rail new, Low pressure fuel pump. Battery etc.Always had fresh oil and filters regularly etc etc .The car was remapped by the previous owner and will return 35 mpg on a run if I take my time on the motorways. It certainly has noticeably more power than my wife’s last Discovery 3 that had the same engine and box.
It has mostly been used on a 400 mile a weekend trip to,our holiday home or on my 60 mile a night commute. It carries our dogs around in shared duties with her Volvo. The Stereo works on Sat nav, radio and auxiliary but curiously has decided it won’t accept CDs.
Various bearings and bushes. Recent new air compressor fitted and it unusually for a Land Rover has no dash warning lights or known problems. The folder of bills is impressive.
Good tyres on it - Pirelli Scorpions and I have a full set of HSE rims in good order with a set of Pirelli barely used tyres fitted I picked up as spares for when the tyres fitted wear out. It can go with these.
Let me know if there’s any interest here and I can get photos posted of it but you all know what a Discovery 3 looks like and it has all the HSE bits as you would expect.

Is this priced too high or the miles the issue? Just covered 120 miles at a shade over eighty running like a sewing machine at 31 mpg loaded.Discovery 3 tdv6 HSE 2007

Hi,
I've been toying with the idea of getting rid of my manual for an auto, but for me personally it's a bit high for the mileage. I've been looking at a similar spec with slightly less Miles and that's on at £3250. Not suggesting you sell yours for that, just giving feedback to your question.

Bringing pound notes is not a problem. However rocking up to Leicester is small issue at present.
