Garmin / TomTom navigator won’t work with heated windscreen?

Navigators work very poorly with heated windshield.
There is no external antenna possibility, any tips or
unit recommendation that work?
Both units are OK, work fine in a car with non heated
or more slanted windscreen. (Ford Transit)
Iphone navigator work fine.

My Garmin sat nav works absolutely fine with my heated screen. My phone GPS works fine with the heated screen. I think you might have a different issue.

Hmmm, my TomTom works fine in my 2014 D4, heated screen?

How new is your TomTom?

Phone works with Waze and more.

I agree the screen maynot be your issue unless maybe it is not the original screen and has some form of different filament heating strands in it?

Could there be a possibility that power is flowing all the time through the heated screen? That might knock out GPS signals?

I also note your location, do you have a non standard heated windscreen or similar?

Both units are at least 5 but less than 10 years old. I like the Garmin unit
as it has a bluetooth reversing camera. I very much dislike the TomTom,
once bought it when we was travelling and our navigator quit.

The windshield is new and it's Pilkington, no LR badge, but what I know
Pilkington make the windshield to LR.

I don't think there is power going thru, if the relay would stuck, it would be
100% on and it's not.

Probably I have to test with a new navigator. We have very strict speed control,
that's why I use navigator all the time, to know accurately the speed I'm travelling.

Not only very strict speed control but camouflaged speed cameras !!! I know exactly why you need a good system to use in Finland Big Cry ... although Waze is very good and seems to be more up to date than most GPS units...
I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Well, not really camouflaged. If you see a van parked in strange places, better check your speed.
Coppers? use vans but mainly in city areas.
The old cameras are grey box, the new ones are like poles. The new ones are at least now easy
to spot as if you see the lamp reflector, there is a camera, soon they probably put lamps in every
camera pole.

Our constitutional law committee remarked when our politicians budgeted speeding fines as income!
Unfortunately here the speed fines are income to our over spending government. In Sweden there is
a "warning sign" in from of every camera and they are not just after a speed limit change like here.

But I'm puzzled about this navigator problem, I like the Garmin; it has a big screen and a dash cam
also, but need to try something new.

I've never experienced a problem with Garmin GPS (2495/2595) and heated screens in both LR and Ford vehicles. I use them for an accurate speedo and run a Speed camera warning database.

However I've always avoided vehicles with Solar reflect front screens as this has a very thin metallic coating (gold?) to reflect infra red and is a block to GPS (and possible mobile phone) signals - it acts like a faraday cage. But I'm not aware the D4 was offered with solar reflect glass as an option
