Hopefully I'm not the only one here who actually enjoys living in the UK? I think it's really a rather lovely country to live in - far from grim. Relative security, low corruption, personal freedom, great opportunity, law and order etc. I've travelled well and there aren't that many countries I'd rather live in, except perhaps Australia or New Zealand (if only they weren't so far from family!).
My wife and I considered a move to Hong Kong about a decade ago. Certainly glad that didn't happen... Turned out a simple move to the country out of the suburbs was enough to start really appreciating all we have in this country. 2022 BMW i4 M50. Bought Oct 2022. 10,200 miles and counting...

And you see that as a negative ? I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

DIY ACE .....I love the country too...sadly there are some crackers on here who knock it at every chance,...my main point was LEBANON is not in a good place and those in this country should thank their luck stars.

I'm grateful that I live in a free country with the ability to go about freely as I wish. I'm grateful that I have access to wander around the countryside with remarkably few restrictions.
But that doesn't mean I think the country is perfect nor that it can't be improved. One can be both grateful for what we have and also wish to improve the lot of others in the country. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they were always going to have to do from the very beginning: SIT DOWN AND TALK!"

Yes an accident of birth is lucky? but despite that, where your born and bred shapes your attitude, expectations and values.
What is normal to some is abnormal to others. You can’t go round thinking that because we live as we do then everybody and every country in the world should aspire to be the same, it just don’t work that way as we found out in the days of the British Empire.

We should all thank our lucky stars that we live in homes with walls and roofs and having running water, heat and a toilet. On the later, we are luckier than the over 2.3 billion people around the world who still lack access to this most basic of amenities.
By wishing to and making improvements to my home doesn’t make me ungrateful for the fact that I am very lucky to own and live in it.
The same applies to my U.K. citizenship and residency. I am very grateful to live where I do, but I’ll not stop wanting to make it better and pointing out the faults as well as the benefits 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE
