Winch mount help

I have problems removing the plastic sitting excactly where the winch goes. It loosens at the bottom, but there's something holding the upper part in place. I can't see how it's fastened and I'm afraid to break something. Any advice is appreciatated!

Cheers,
OP

There are indeed 2 screws hidden away..

Heres how its attached at the top of the air duct

Here is the location of the drivers side (RHD vehicle) screw

And here it is looking down the left hand side of the radiator

The one on the opposite side is a real pain in the Censored to get to.

A little tip ..the mounting has 2 screws in it ...you can remove either to undo it but i found that the one on the right ( standing at the front of the car ) ..is easier to remove the screw nearest the radiator ...you will see what i mean

Alternatly ...rip that off ...you are proberly never gonna re fit the air duct anyway

Hope this helps

I did the same, removed one and cut the other off as I couldn't get to it. Can't actually see the point of that great lump of plastic anyway. You will find the ambient air temp sensor behind it though so make sure you re-fit it somewhere similar.

Thanks for the help everybody. Despite global warming, i don't think keeping the engine cool will be a problem here in Norway. If I go on an expedition, it will be to Iceland...

The winch install is coming along nicely. I'm also trying to fabricate a new exhaust and installing the Rasta underbody protection at the same time, so it takes some time. The day before yesterday the car lift I was using jammed in the top position, leaving me with a dismantled car 2 meters over ground! Luckily, for unknown reasons, the lift was working properly again yesterday. Phew!
