IID/Altox/Blackvue phone change |
|
Morning all
I've not posted recently, just been lurking, mainly because the D4 isn't doing many miles whilst I work from home, so is just getting normal maintenance and upkeep.
Although I am still really enjoying it and still worry about what I'll replace it with when I have to.
When I brought my 65 plate D4 at the end of 2019 to replace my D3, the first things I did were to add an Altox controller for the FBH, a Blackvue dashcam, then have a play through the menus with a newly acquired IID.
I've used the Altox a lot, sending it text messages to warm it up, but have to admit I've not connected to the Blackvue since the novelty wore off, and I'll need to remind myself how to connect to it.
The IID has also been used quite a bit via my phone to reset stuff and read codes etc.
When I fitted them I had to upgrade my phone, as my old one just wouldn't work with them, it was too old etc.
So it's now time to change my phone again, and as well as getting prepared to sort out all the systems access security apps on it for work I'm wondering how much grief I'm looking at to get a new phone up and running with the IID, Altox and Blackvue.
I know 1000's of people have done it, but as you can tell phones are of zero interest to me, they are just a necessary tool that I'd rather be without and just can't get excited about, so I am not up to speed with what to do.
Don't get the idea I'm not good with technology, I work in Aviation electronics and am more than happy plugging a laptop into my Ducati Motorcycles and Mercury outboard to 'Play' with the fuel mapping etc.
So, how difficult is this going to be?
Thanks

I swapped from a Samsung S7 to a Samsung S9+ ... can't remember any hassle and have had to track down the S7 recently to wipe it ... my son was using it for video recording and when he turned it on, it tried to take back half my apps !
New phone will ask if you want to transfer then you place them back to back and the Near Field Comms setup does it all for you. .

Thanks Hardware.
I'm not sure a data transfer is going to work with all phones, but am just going to have to give it a try when I decide on a phone. Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.
