Well I purchased a new winch & winch bumper several months ago I finally had time this weekend to fit it , just need some longer cables to reach the battery fit the lights and I’m ready for the one in every 10 years of Cornish snow

Very handy for axtracting cash machines!
Fit a fuse in one of the power cables so no dick can short the solenoid out, Iirc this was a thing in Aus where they would run the winch cable over the roof and fix it to the tow bar, then short the solenoid and walk away as the winch merrily crushed the roof!

wire it through a solenoid with a switch on the dash . that way every thing is isolated till you chose to make it live .2005 discovery 3 tdv6

Hi,
you never know when you might need it
could have done with you last Wednesday when it was Asda delivery time
he delivered to us at 20:50 backed down our drive and then it all went wrong he ended up off our drive on the grass bit of a side slope and was going nowhere
23:15 a recovery 110 defender with a winch (plasma rope 8) ) and 15min later he was on his way
although I doubt it was to finish the deliveries
