Sunroof drains, how many? |
|
Got the not so uncommon wet passenger carpet and tracked it down to a blocked drain. Cleared it out with a inner brake cable and water is flowing nicely out when required, but only when I put water in the front trough of the sunroof. If I put it in the side trough, it wets the a pillar trim inside.
My question is, is the seal on the roof designed to ensure the water only drains into the front trough? Or are there drains in the side troughs that clear it also?
Both “front” drains clear nicely and the pipe right angles at the bottom of both are in good condition.
Its only damp, as opposed to sodden in the footwell. On lifting the carpet, its dry on the floor and so is the sound deadening. The pollen filter and housing are bone dry too.
When I took the side vent off, the cut out in the body where the water drains down to the behind the wing was clogged up too, cleared that out as well 2013 Baltic Blue D4 - a balance between family car and camping machine - trying to not bladder it with stuff I dont need!
